Sitter & Baby Sessions

Thank you so much for your interest in a Dinky Feet sitter session. I look forward to capturing beautiful, timeless, and very special images of your little baby, mastering one of their first big milestones.

These sessions are best suited for babies between 6 and 12 months, when they can sit up unsupported.

Our approach is gentle and relaxed, prioritising your and your baby's comfort throughout the session. We focus on creating timeless and beautiful images, carefully styling and posing to capture the natural beauty of your little one. Each session concludes with a collection of professionally enhanced and fully edited images, providing you with cherished keepsakes that will be treasured for years to come.

You’ll be invited back to my studio one to two weeks after your session to view your final gallery of approximately 20 beautifully enhanced and fully edited images. At that point, you can decide which package you'd like to purchase.

Why should you have a Baby Session with us?

Booking a photoshoot for your baby between 6 and 12 months, when they’re sitting up unsupported, is a great way to capture their growing personality.

At this stage, your baby’s unique traits start to shine through—whether they’re inquisitive, cheerful, or full of character. Maybe they're a little thinker. Maybe their eyes lock on you, full of wonder, whilst their bottom lip drops curiously.

At Dinky Feet Studio, we create a relaxed and fun atmosphere that lets your baby’s true self come out. This is a special time when they achieved some really big milestones, like sitting up unsupported and subsequently crawling, and our photos will capture those and show who they really are.

Don't wait for a cake smash to capture their personality. They have plenty already and it's worth capturing!

What happens during the Sitter Session and what's included?

During a sitter session, we capture your baby’s emerging personality as they sit up unsupported (or even crawl!) and charm us with their new skills.

Expect a relaxed, fun-filled 1 to 1.5-hour session in our Worksop studio, where we use a range of backgrounds and props to highlight your baby’s unique traits. This may include crates, wooden toys, bowls, rustic chairs, and various boxes and scarves. Plus, plenty of really cute baby outfits for which we have a slight weakness (one might call it hoarding, but we don't need this kind of negativity in our life!).

Around 1–2 weeks after the shoot, you’ll return to view a gallery of beautifully edited images, carefully selected to showcase those special moments of your baby's overwhelming cuteness.

We get asked quite often whether parents can join in the sitter shoot. Absolutely! And feel free to bring along your pet if you have one—because the best photos are the ones that reflect your family’s true spirit.

What to expect after the Sitter & Baby Session?

Within about 1 to 2 weeks after your sitter session, we’ll invite you back to our studio to view a gallery of around 20 beautifully edited images. We carefully select and enhance the best photos to showcase your baby’s charming personality and those special moments.

During your viewing appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to review the gallery, choose your favorite images, and discuss any additional prints or products you may want.

Our goal is to provide you with stunning, professionally edited photos that you’ll cherish for years to come.

"I am considering having a cake smash session. Do I need both a Sitter Shoot and a Cake Smash Shoot, even though they are only a few months apart?"

You don’t "need" both a sitter session and a cake smash session, but having both can offer you a more complete record of your baby’s first year.

Each session highlights different stages and moments in your baby’s development.

A sitter session, typically done between 6 and 12 months old, focuses on capturing your baby’s developing personality as they sit up unsupported. It’s a wonderful opportunity to document their unique traits and milestones in a relaxed and natural setting.

A cake smash session, usually held around your baby’s first birthday, is all about celebrating this significant milestone with a fun and lively cake smash. It’s a playful way to mark the end of their first year and create memorable photos of their reaction to the cake and the subsequent wet mess that follows during the bubble bath part.

By choosing both sessions, you get a beautiful contrast: the serene, personal moments from the sitter session and the energetic, celebratory moments from the cake smash.

Each session provides a different perspective, ensuring you capture the full range of your baby’s experiences and milestones during their first year.

"What is my baby is not playing ball on the day?"

If your baby isn't quite cooperating on the day of the session, don't worry! It’s completely normal for little ones to have off moments.

At Dinky Feet Studio, we’re used to handling these situations with patience and flexibility. We’ll take breaks, try different approaches, and make adjustments to ensure your baby’s comfort and happiness.

Our goal is to capture those genuine moments, so we’ll work with your baby’s mood to get the best shots possible.

"I like what I see, how do I book and what's the process to secure the date?"

If you’re excited about booking a session with us, here’s how to get started:

First, reach out to us to check availability for your preferred date. Once we’ve confirmed a date that works for you, we’ll provide you with the necessary details and next steps.

To secure your spot, we’ll ask for a £99 deposit, which ensures your session date is reserved just for you. This amount is fully credited towards your purchase at the viewing, as we do not charge a session fee.

After that, we’ll send you a confirmation and any additional information you might need to prepare for your shoot and we will also book our consultation where we will be happy to answer any questions you might have about what to bring or how to get ready.
