Our approach is gentle and relaxed, ensuring both you and your baby are comfortable throughout the session. With a focus on creating timeless and beautiful images, we take great care in styling and posing to highlight the natural beauty of your newborn. Each session results in a collection of fully edited, professionally enhanced images that will serve as treasured keepsakes for years to come.
You’ll be invited back to my studio one to two weeks after your session to view your final gallery of approximately 20 beautifully enhanced and fully edited images. At that point, you can decide which package you'd like to purchase.

What happens during the session and what's included?
Our newborn sessions are all-inclusive, providing everything you need to create beautiful, personalised portraits.
We offer a wide selection of props, including wraps, blankets, hats, headbands, and baskets, which can be tailored to your style and colour preferences.
Each session typically lasts between 3-4 hours to allow time for breaks, feedings, and diaper changes, ensuring that both baby and parents stay relaxed.
We focus on creating a peaceful environment where we can capture the baby in natural, artistic poses.
Family portraits are also included during the session, allowing you to create timeless images with your newborn and other family members.
How to prepare for the newborn session?
We want you and your baby to be comfortable and well-prepared for the session, so we provide helpful tips ahead of time, during your in-person or Zoom consultation.
We recommend feeding your baby just before the session to keep them sleepy and settled. Bring along any sentimental items you’d like to include, such as a special blanket or heirloom. Parents and siblings are welcome to join for family portraits, and we suggest wearing simple, neutral-toned clothing for a cohesive and timeless look. If your baby needs breaks for feeding or changing, we always take the necessary time to ensure everyone is at ease. Our goal is to make the experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible for you and your newborn.
What to expect after the newborn session?
After your newborn session, you’ll be invited back to the studio one to two weeks later for a private viewing of your gallery. This gallery typically includes around 20 fully enhanced and professionally edited images, each carefully curated to showcase your baby’s best moments. During this appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to select your favorite images and choose the package that best suits your needs. Whether you opt for digital files, prints, or custom wall art, we offer a variety of ways to display your newborn portraits. Our packages are designed to provide flexibility, ensuring you can treasure these images for years to come.

“When should I book my newborn session?”
Booking your newborn session is a crucial step in ensuring you capture the fleeting, precious moments of your baby’s earliest days. But when is the best time to make that booking? Ideally, newborn sessions are scheduled during your pregnancy, well before your baby arrives. We can book your newborn session as soon as you have a provisional due date for your delivery.
"Why should I book early?
Newborn photography is time-sensitive. The ideal window for photographing newborns is between 5 and 21 days after birth. During this period, babies are naturally sleepier and still retain those curled-up, womb-like poses that make for stunning portraits. Their skin is also soft and clear, and they tend to be less reactive to external stimuli, which allows us to gently pose them without causing discomfort.
Booking early ensures we can schedule your session within this narrow timeframe, maximising the chances of capturing those beautiful, sleepy moments.
Because newborns arrive on their own schedule, it’s a good idea to reserve your session during your second or third trimester. Once your booking is confirmed, we tentatively mark your due date in our calendar, and once your baby arrives, we finalise the exact session date.
This flexibility guarantees we’ll have availability for you within that critical window, no matter when your dinky one arrives, without the stress of last-minute scheduling.

We understand that babies often don’t arrive on their exact due date, and we are fully prepared to accommodate early or late arrivals. The key is to stay in touch with us once your baby is born, so we can adjust the session timing as needed.
Whether your baby arrives a bit earlier or later than expected, we will prioritise your booking to ensure that we can capture your newborn within the recommended age range.
For babies who may need extra time in the hospital or require special care, don’t worry. While we aim to photograph babies between 5 and 21 days, we are happy to adjust based on individual circumstances. We’ll work together to find the best time for your session once your baby is healthy and ready, so you can still enjoy beautiful, meaningful portraits.

"What Happens If I Don’t Book Early?"
While we always encourage clients to book early, we understand that sometimes the arrival of your baby comes with unexpected challenges and that not everyone has the opportunity to plan ahead. If you find yourself looking to book a newborn session after your baby has arrived, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Although our schedule may be busier at times, we do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings whenever possible. However, availability can be limited, and we may not always have an open slot within the ideal 5-21 day window.
Additionally, if your baby is older than three weeks by the time you’re ready to book, it’s still possible to have a newborn session, though the experience will be slightly different. Babies older than three weeks are often more alert, and they begin to stretch out of the curled-up positions that are typically associated with newborn photography. In these cases, we can still capture beautiful images, but they may reflect more awake, expressive moments rather than the traditional sleepy poses.
“What happens if my baby is fussy during the session?”
At Dinky Feet Studio, we completely understand that newborns can be unpredictable, and it’s perfectly normal for your little one to become fussy during the session. Newborns have their own rhythm, and factors like hunger, tiredness, or the need for a diaper change can make them unsettled. If this happens, there’s no need to worry—it’s a part of the process, and we’re well-prepared for it.
With years of experience working with newborns, we know how to handle these situations with care, patience, and a flexible approach to ensure both you and your baby have a positive experience. If however we can't settle your little one at all for any reason, we will offer you an alternative date to come and finish our session.
“How long will the session take?”
A typical newborn session at Dinky Feet Studio usually takes between 3 and 4 hours.
We never rush our models, giving plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and any necessary breaks to ensure your baby is comfortable and relaxed throughout the session.
This relaxed pace allows us to work gently with your newborn, ensuring we capture those precious moments without any stress.
We believe in creating a calm, patient environment that works around your baby's needs, so you can enjoy the experience while we take the time to create beautiful, timeless images.
"How do I book my newborn shoot?"
At Dinky Feet Studio, we strive to make the booking process as easy and stress-free as possible. Simply get in touch with us during your pregnancy, and we’ll secure a spot for you around your due date.
Once your baby arrives, let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll confirm the final session date.
We recommend reaching out within the first few days of your baby’s birth to ensure we can arrange the session within the optimal window.
We also offer flexible packages and payment plans to suit your needs, so booking early allows you to explore all the available options in advance. This way, you can feel confident that everything is taken care of by the time your little one arrives.
We don’t charge for the shoot itself. It is entirely free to attend the shoot and have pictures taken of you and your baby. At no time are you are under any obligation to purchase a single image if you don’t wish to, in that case the shoot will have cost you nothing. Should you, however, wish to order just a few images or prints rather than a package, due to the time involved in creating, processing, ordering and printing etc. or creating the multiple versions of files for USB there is a minimum order fee of £599.
£99 non-refundable retainer required in order to secure your booking. This will be deducted from your final order.
By far our most popular package, it includes everything you might need and more, providing you with a beautiful keepsake from your baby's first photoshoot.

Our basic package is perfect for anyone on a budget who still wants the absolute best images for their baby.
*Should there be more images in our final gallery on the viewing day, they are available for purchase at £30 per digital file and a matching print.
Your digital images are presented in high resolution on a USB drive. The digital file collections all include printing rights.
I understand that having the flexibility of buying the digital files allows you to produce prints, enlargements and albums. However, I firmly believe that the beautiful images we are going to create deserve to be displayed using only the best quality products.
Additional prints and products can be purchased at the viewing. All prices are available on our website under the "product tab".
