What happens during our Mommy & Me session and what's included?

During your Mommy & Me session at Dinky Feet, the focus is all about capturing the real, beautiful connection between you and your children in a relaxed environment of our Worksop Studio.
Here's how it works:

Upon booking, we will schedule your consultation to find out what type of images make your heart sing. This can be either in-person at our studio, or over Zoom.

The Session:
- Warm Welcome: When you arrive, we’ll start with some time to chat and let your little ones get comfortable. There’s no rush, and I want everyone to feel at ease from the start—this helps the magic happen naturally!

- Two Styled Looks: We’ll create two distinct sets. The first is a darker, moodier set with deep, rich tones like navy or dark green, giving a warm and intimate feel. Then we’ll switch to a lighter, more airy look, with soft pastels or off-whites to give those timeless, fresh images. I also love adding textures like cosy scarves or simple props to complement your bond. Depending on how well we are doing and how our younger models are feeling on the day, we may try some more outfits and setups!

Have a specific colour / style in mind? We will make sure the session is styled in line with those tones.

- No Posing Pressure: Don’t worry about trying to “pose” or look perfect. I will guide you through each setup and pose in details to make the most out of your features, the outfits and the light. I focus on capturing genuine moments—snuggles, laughter, playful interactions—the little things that truly showcase your family’s unique connection.

- Children and Comfort: If your kids need a break or don’t want to cooperate, that’s completely okay! I have loads of patience and plenty of experience working with children, no matter their energy level. The session moves at their pace. And yes, your pets are absolutely welcome too!

What’s Included:

- In-Person or online consultation and up to 1.5 hour session
- A Beautiful Gallery: After the session, you’ll return to the studio in 1-2 weeks to view your final gallery of around 20 beautifully enhanced and fully edited images, carefully curated to highlight the most meaningful moments from our time together.
It's during this viewing that you’ll be able to choose the images you want to keep and select the package that best fits your needs—whether digital files, prints, or a custom wall art.

Yes, we offer a beautiful selection of dresses and outfits for both mums and daughters to make your Mommy & Me session even more special.

We have carefully curated pieces that photograph beautifully, ranging from soft, flowy dresses for mums to adorable outfits for little ones. These outfits are designed to complement both the darker, moodier set and the lighter, airy set we create during the session, so you don’t have to worry about finding the perfect wardrobe.

"What's the best age for Mommy & Me session?"

There’s no “perfect” age for a Mommy & Me session because every stage of motherhood is special in its own way. The best time to book really depends on what you’d like to capture:
- With Babies: If your little one is still a baby, around 6 to 12 months is a great time, especially when they’re sitting up or starting to crawl. This age captures their sweet expressions and developing personality while still being all about the snuggles.

- With Toddlers: Toddlers bring so much fun and energy to a session. At this stage, you’ll capture playful moments, laughter, and that special, close bond as they explore and interact with you.

- With Older Children: If your kids are older, a Mommy & Me session becomes more about capturing your unique relationship as it grows. These sessions are a great way to freeze time before they get even more independent.

"How long will the session take?"

Mommy & Me* session typically lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours. This gives us plenty of time to capture beautiful, authentic moments without feeling rushed.

The session moves at a relaxed pace to ensure your children (and you!) are comfortable and having fun. If your little ones need breaks or time to warm up, there's no need to worry—I'm flexible and patient, and we’ll take all the time needed to get those special shots.

"Do you include hair and make-up?"

For hair and makeup, we ask that you source your own. Most of our clients have a specific look in mind and prefer to use their own trusted hair stylists and makeup artists to achieve exactly what they envision. This way, you’ll feel comfortable and confident, knowing your hair and makeup are just how you like them.
Please make sure you plan for those appointments prior to booking your session with us to make sure you have plenty of time on the day to accommodate them.
